Miss USA 1964 was Bobbi Johnson from the state of District of Columbia. She was crowned on June 6, 1964, at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, Florida. At the time of her win, Bobbi was a 21-year-old student at Howard University, majoring in political science. She was the first African American woman to win the title of Miss District of Columbia. As Miss USA, Bobbi traveled throughout the United States and abroad for various charitable causes and events. She also competed in the Miss Universe 1964 pageant, where she placed in the top 15. After her reign, Bobbi worked as a television journalist and later became a political consultant.
